Distillato ottenuto dalla fermentazione e distillazione di vari cereali, ch matura in botti di legno. Le tipologie si dividono per metodo di produzione e provenienza. Blended Scotch Whisky composti da una percentuale di Grain, e da una percentuale di Malt. Single Malt Scotch Whisky prodotto da singola distilleria con il solo impiego di orzo maltato, possono essere realizzati con una miscela di malti, il cui più giovane deve avere l’età dichiarata in etichetta. Blended Malt Scotch Whisky composti da una miscela di più single malt, amalgamati per ottenere un risultato appagante ed equilibrato. Tutti gli Scotch Whisky devono essere distillati e maturati in Scozia per almeno tre anni. Irish Whiskey è prodotto in Irlanda dove si usano entrambi i tipi di distillazione deve essere distillato e maturato nel Paese natio per almeno tre anni. Bourbon Whiskey è prodotto negli Stati Uniti e la maturazione deve avvenire per almeno due anni in botti di quercia bianca nuove e carbonizzate. Tennessee Whiskey prodotto in Tennessee e la filtrazione che avviene con carbone d’acero. Canadian Whiskey è prodotto nell’Ontario e nel Quebec e come materia prima si impiega la segale.Il Rye Whiskey è una varietà di whiskey statunitense. Japanese whisky è prodotto in Giappone usando lo stile produttivo della Scozia
